Tenio Latev, was born in Harmanli in southern Bulgaria, where the Latev Family was associated with Tabacco & Trading. Before WW II , Mr. Tenio Latev was heading the Family business.
In 1947 Tenio Latev married the daughter with the local priest together two children with her, who currently are in Bulgaria and Switzerland.
The Latev family served many clients from all over the world incl. Phillip Morris and a few from the other big tobacco companies.
After 1949 the new communistic government in Bulgaria took power and nationalized the tabacco business, forcing the Latev family from the jawhorse. However Tenio Latev was lucky being promoted as the Gm of the recently formed state owned company, called Bulgartabac. The explanation for it was Tenio Latev's wast network of clients troughout the entire world and his capability to find diplomatic solutions for complicated business problems.
He had not been an advocate with the Communist Party nevertheless the position he held caused it to be mandatory for him to participate the Party. He served the Party at his best effort and was promoted many times throughout his professional political career. It is known today that he was one of the few government officials who never accepted big scale bribes. From a wealthy and successful business family that has been expropriated, Tenio Latev was obviously a modest, soft hearted giant ( 195cm tall ).
The Latev Family was moved to Sofia in 1951, where Tenio Latev served as the Gm and Director for Bulgartobacco till 1985.
In his career he was handed the privilege to travel the planet from New York to Moscow and many other destinations. Just a few chosen people back these days of communist Bulgaria could actually try this.
An Austrian author recently published a magazine depending on material found in archives in Vienna/Austria, book name: Bulgartabak im Austriapack, which mentions Tenio Latev and his awesome benefit the us government during the East-West trading relationships.

Tenio Latev would be a good father and husband as well as an even better grandfather to his three grandkids, one of them named after him and currently located in Hong Kong.
Tenio Latev unfortuantelly died 1989, a few months prior to the communist era stumbled on a sudden end. He wasn't able to witness the reestablishing of your free society in the beloved country. His wife died 6 months after him, loved ones voice it out was of your broken heart... She couldn't do without her husband.
